    Feasting on SuperFoods - Adult Summer Reading Program

    Wednesday, August 19, 6:30-8 p.m.

    Learn about SuperFoods, nutrient powerhouses that are packed with large doses of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

    Be a hero in the kitchen with Chef Liz Barbour, who will share delicious recipes, kitchen tips, and shopping suggestions at a cooking demonstration and tasting.  Make the SuperFoods lifestyle simple for you!

    The summer reading program is fun for adults! Enter your name (each time you finish a book) into a drawing for great prizes to be given at this event. Funded by the Friends of the Library.

    Our tech advisor will be available on Tuesdays, 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m. and Wednesday evenings, 7-8 p.m.

    This is creative building with the Lego creations on display at the Library until the next month. Parents and caregivers, please remain on the Library premises if your child is under the age of 10.

    Meet Our Local Hero - Tyler Lagasse

    Wednesday, July 22, 7-8 p.m.

    Tyngsborough resident Tyler Lagasse will share his inspiring story of facing adversity and reaching for the stars. Despite an early diagnosis of autism, Tyler dreamed big, worked hard and racked up many wins in all areas of his life, including sports, education and advocacy. Tyler and his mother, Deborah, will discuss and sign their book, What Do You Say?...Autism with Character. 

    All ages welcome. Refreshments will be served.

    Engineering Design for teens: Build a solar car

    Budget and design your prototype solar car. Then test it out while learning about thrust, drag, gravity and resistance. Take home your solar car! Teens 13+. Registration required. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Tyngsborough Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

    Heroes and Villains Workshop

    Wednesday, July 29, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

    Create your own unique hero or villain during this fun arts and crafts session. Design your new character's outfit, hero or villain name, secret identity, and powers. Recieve a personalized certificate for your new character and take it home with you! For ages 5-10. Registration required.

    Thursdays, 10:00-11:00: Dates July 23, 30 and August 6, 13.

    Register for one or all four sessions!

    Join us for Hero Academy this summer. Each sesion will focus on various types of heroes - Superheroes, everyday and animal heroes. Enjoy fun activities and books. Finally kids will be able to test their super powers with different challenges and a wrap-up party on the last day! Ages 5-8. Registration required.

    2015 Summer Reading Program

     Registration for children starts on June 22 for teens and adults on July 1!  Be a part of the summer reading program. Join us for fun programs for all ages which is about heroes of all kinds, whether a superhero, animal hero or everyday hero! Kids' theme is Every Hero has a StoryEnjoy leisurely reading (or required reading for students!) and enter drawings for prizes.  Readers and prereaders of all ages are welcome to join in. Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the Tyngsborough Public Library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.  The Summer Reading Program is supported by the Friends of the Library and generous donations.  Build a Solar Car and Magician Scott Jameson are supported in part by a grant from the Tyngsborough Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the  Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

  • Nail Art: Super Mini Manis for Teens!
    Nail Art: Super Mini Manis for Teens!

    Wednesday, August 5, 6:00-8:00 p.m.

    Nail artist will paint a design on an accent nail for each teen as she explains the step by step process in detail. Teens will then be free to finish the rest of their nails using the huge variety of nail polish colors and materials, such as gems, stones, foils and more with hands-on advice from the nail artist. Teens age 13+. Registration required.

The Library will be CLOSED on Saturdays from June 20 through September 5.

It will be open on Saturdays beginning September 12.

 

PLEASE NOTE: MVLC will be moving its offices at the end of June. 

OVERDRIVE WILL BE AVAILABLE DURING THIS PERIOD.

The following systems and services will be unavailable on Saturday and Sunday, June 27 & 28:

·        MVLC public website

·        Safari, the Virtual Catalog and other databases or systems that require authentication using a patron barcode.

 The Library catalog - June 27 and 28 - will be set to ‘closed days’ in the Library's system so patrons will not be penalized by the system’s unavailability.

take Exit 35 East (Route 113) off US Route 3. Approximately 1 mile take a left on to Bryants Lane.
