    Summer Reading Program 2017

    Be a part of the summer reading program!  Join us for fun programs for all ages, many of which follow this summer's theme: Build A Better World! Check the online calendar for programs and details. Enjoy leisurely reading (or required reading for students!) and enter drawings for prizes.  Readers and prereaders of all ages are welcome to join in. Registration for children and teens start on June 12!

    Summer Reading Program is sponsored by the Tyngsborough Public Library, the Massachusetts Library System, the Boston Bruins, and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.  The Summer Reading Program is supported by the Friends of the Library and generous donations.

    New Pass! Seacoast Science Center

    The Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH, is the perfect place to explore, discover, and connect with nature—especially the salty kind. Learn about marine mammals of the Gulf of Maine and how the Center works to protect them. Find out how scientists explore the deep and learn why ocean health matters. Each pass admits 2 adults and up to 4 children under the age of 18 to the Center at a 50% discount. Funded by the Friends of the Library

    Toddlers and preschoolers up to age 4. Come have some summer musical fun! You'll sing, dance, play instruments, read stories and do a summer-themed craft! Funded by Community Teamwork, Inc.

    Preschoolers - Grade 4. Registration required. Deadline: July 10.

    Author David Rottenberg reads his book, Gwendolyn, the Graceful Pig, which is about two pigs with big dreams—Gwendolyn wants to dance and her best friend, Omar, wants to play football. Enjoy listening to this wonderful story while local students from Ellen's School of Dance perform to the story. After the performance, join them for a little dance/movement session.

    Learn how to program robots, and complete challenges such as navigating a course and taking pictures with an on-board camera.

    Ever wonder how henna paste is made? Create your own recipe based on the information given! Whether you use Coca-cola, lemon juice, rainwater or tea with your powder is up to you, as is the distinct mix of essential oils. Learn how to roll and fill your own cone to bring home.

    Ready, Set, Start Your Common App!

    Wednesday, August 9, 6:30-8:00 p.m.

    Free college workshop for teens & parents! What do colleges REALLY care about? The Common App gives you a lot of opportunities to tell your story in a way that college admissions directors will find compelling - this workshop can show you the way to do that. You’ll look at each part of the Common App and show you where you can inject your personality and where you can protect your shortcomings. You’ll also learn share how admission officers use the information you give them to make admission decisions. Registration preferred.

    Join Stephanie, holistic health coach, as she teaches how to create delicious and healthy smoothies. Learn the health benefits of smoothies & sample multiple recipes. Participants will also receive smoothie starter kits to make their own smoothies at home. Adults and teens welcome! Registration is required.

    Tech Advice by Appointment

    Book an appointment for an individual lesson or consultation on any of the following tech topics: computer basics, android tablets & phones, Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, OverDrive digital downloads for Nook, Kindle or android devices.

    Consultations are held on Tuesdays, 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m., Wednesday evenings, 7-8 p.m. and at other times pending the availability of the Tech Advisor.

    An appointment is required, so call to reserve a time!
