    Beaded Bracelet Workshop: Lacy Loops

    Thursdays, February 4 and 11, 1-3 p.m. (Register for both sessions)

    Ritva Ojanen will teach students how to create a seed bead woven bracelet of lacy loops with toggle closure. Materials will be provided unless registrant chooses to bring beads in a preferred color. (See library staff for details).

    Funded by the Friends of the Library.

    - Storytimes for 3-5 year olds:  Thursdays at 1:00 p.m. Drop in and enjoy stories, hand rhymes, music and maybe a seasonal craft. September-May. *Special dentist storytime with a guest reader from Lowell Dentistry! Thursday, February 18, 11-11:30 a.m., Ages 3-7.

    -Tiny Tots Storytime for infants - 3 year olds will be held on the first and third Wednesdays at 11:00-11:30 a.m. Join Miss Deb for stories, music and hand rhymes. Drop in! Sponsored by Community Teamwork, Inc. October-May. 

    -Books & Babies music program for infants and toddlers will be held on the first Saturday each month, October-April from 10-11:00 a.m. Join Miss Leigh for music and more! March schedule change: Will be held on Saturday, March 12.

  • R.E.A.D.

    Second Saturday from October - May from 10 – 11:30 a.m. 

    Grades K - 6. Registration required.

    Guinness is a registered Reading Education Assistance Dog. Read aloud to Guinness (and his handler) for 15 minutes, one-on-one for fun and as a confidence builder.  It's great encouragement for reluctant readers! Walk-ins welcome on day of program if space is available.

    Overhaul your wellness regimen with this playful, cutting-edge brain and seated movement fitness program that simultaneously activates the five cognitive functions of the brain, while addressing the physical skills needed to respond, recover and react efficiently and safely.

    Wednesdays, February 10 – April 6, 1-5 p.m. Registration required.
    Free tax counseling and preparation for taxpayers with middle- and low incomes, with special attention to those 60 and over. You do not have to be a member of AARP or a retiree to use the service.

    Book an appointment for an individual lesson or consultation on any of the following tech topics: computer basics, android tablets & phones, Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, OverDrive digital downloads for Nook, Kindle or android devices.

    Consultations are held on Tuesdays, 11:30 a.m. -1:30 p.m., Wednesday evenings, 7-8 p.m. and at other times pending the availability of the Tech Advisor.

    An appointment is required, so call to reserve a time!

    Open Minds: Yoga and Literacy for Children

    New winter session! Tuesdays, February 23-March 29, 10-10:45 a.m.

    Six week class for 3-5 year olds

    Classes will incorporate yoga movement and breathing into simple literacy activities. Taught by yoga instructor and children’s book author Ellen Olson-Brown. Registration required.

    Go is a fun, easy to learn game of strategy for all ages! Snacks provided. Just drop in!

    Second Wednesday, December-May, 4-4:30 p.m.

    Join students from the THS Spanish Honor Society as they read stories in spanish. Learn new words and maybe an activity or music. Drop in. For ages 5-8.

    Wednesday, March 9 from 6:30-7:15 p.m.  Toddlers up to age 4.

    What a great way to end your day…listening & dancing to the music of Bernadette Baird. Join us for the toe tappingly fun Pajama Jam for kids and their parents. Kids - Come dressed in your PJs and sing, dance and more! After it's done, you'll head home for a restful night's sleep.Older siblings must remain in Children's library during the program.     Wednesday, February 17, 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Grades 6-12. 

    Come build a robot with us! Learn how to program electronics and use Arduino interactive software to create your own sample robot. Registration required.
