Book Sales & Donations

Every year, the Friends of the Tyngsborough Public Library sponsors two book sales to help support the library.   The first book sale is usually held around May or June. Traditionally, the Tyngsborough Garden Club will also offer an assortment of plants including flowers for sale.   The second book sale happens in September or October. In the past, baked goods such as cookies, cakes, and more were also for sale.   When can I donate books? The facility and storage at the Tyngsborough Public Library is limited. We strongly encourage the public to bring donations to the library one month before the book sale.  If it is not possible to wait, you might contact other local public libraries, the local Salvation Army, or other non-profits. You might also try one of many book donation programs .   Are there only books for sale? Books are our largest category, but we also have videos, CDs, DVDs, VHS cassettes, records, cassettes, audio books, computer games and software, and puzzles.   Do you take checks or credit cards? The Friends of the Tyngsborough Public Library can take payment only in cash or checks with proper identifications. At this time, we do not have the capability to process debit or credit cards.   How can I help? Whether you might want to setup tables, sort books, or help the pubic at a book sale, we always need a good volunteer. If you are interested, contact the Library.   What do you do with the money raised at the book sales? After meeting book sale expenses,  the Friends of the Tyngsborough Public Library use the money raised to fund the Library Pass Program , library programming, and much more. Tyngsborough Public Library has been blessed by the past donations of our Friends and look forward to the continued support.
